Event Safety Guidelines & Protocols

Hello NTTR Trail Community,

NTTR SARS-CoV-2 Event Guidelines & Safety Measures

Hello North Texas Trail Community,

We at NTTR understand that recent years have been a challenging time for many; especially related to the direct and indirect impact of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Top of mind is the health and safety of our friends, family, and communities. We have stayed informed on the latest information as many of you have been doing.  Our hearts and prayers extend to all of our trail family and we encourage each individual and family to adopt a risk posture appropriate for their situation.

We also understand that exercising, good sleep, healthy eating, and reducing stress are the most important elements to being healthy and having a healthy immune system and we are blessed enough to be passionate about a sport that largely takes place in outdoor, open spaces.  NTTR will continue to host events that adhere to SARS-CoV-2 safety measures as required by national, state, and local authorities.  Our goal is to continue supporting the North Texas trail community and we want to do that as safely as possible.  Most importantly, please be understanding and courteous of each other as we get back to doing the things we love!  Note that guidelines are subject to change based on the current situation and ongoing updates from authorities.

Individual Participant Guidelines:

  1. Breaking cycle of exposure/infection:
    1. Stay home if you are sick
  2. Good hygiene practices:
    1. Wash hands often with soap/water for at least 20 seconds
    2. Use hand sanitizer (min. 60% alcohol) when soap & water are not available
    3. Cover cough and sneezes

Event Guidelines:

  1. Follow all guidelines of our partner organizations, federal, state, and local authorities.
  2. Face masks are not required but highly encouraged, especially when social distancing cannot be maintained.
  3. All events are completely self-supported unless otherwise stated.  Each participant is responsible for their own hydration and nutrition and for packing out what they pack in (no littering).  If an event has support, only volunteers are allowed to interact directly with hydration and nutrition provided.
  4. Notice that there is an enhanced risk of being in direct contact with anyone age 65 or older for 14 days after participation.
